Moments ago, Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli and the team announced that forward Rich Peverley, who was acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers (now Winnipeg Jets) last February, has signed a three-year contract extension with the club. Peverley will speak with the media following the team’s practice up in Wilmington at 11 a.m.

In 23 games with the Black and Gold last year, the 29-year-old Peverley notched seven points (four goals, three assists) and also posted 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in last year’s playoffs. Peverley leads all Bruins with two goals — which he scored in Saturday’s win over Tampa — in three games. In 82 games with Atlanta and Boston in 2010-11, Peverley tallied 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 82 games.

Career wise, the former St. Lawrence forward has played in 276 games compiling 151 points (60 goals, 91 assists) in his six years as an NHLer.

A more detailed analysis on Peverley’s deal will be posted later here on Bruins Daily.
