The Bruins and Canes skate to a scoreless period after one. The Bruins came out sloppy in the first few minutes of the game but kicked it into gear shorly after that. Things started to get chippy between two physical teams that both need the two points tonight. Heres some notes from the first 20.

Bruins had two early power plays and as usual fail to score on both. Deja vu Bruins fans.

The Bruins top line has looked good in the first 20 minutes. They have been all over the Hurricanes zone and have had a few prime scoring chances tonight.

Benoit Pouliot has looked very good again in the first. He’s picked off a few passes and turned those into scoring chances. He also got bailed out by Tim Thomas late in the period after he went for to pick off the pass and missed badly.

Thomas looks locked in tonight, hes came up with some big saves keeping the Bruins in it.

The Hurricanes will start the second period on the power play.
