After 40: Sharks- 2 Bruins- 0

The Sharks use a sloppy period by the Bruins to double their lead after Logan Coture beats Thomas from the slot. The Bruins picked up the play a bit later on in the period but still haven’t been able to beat Antti Niemi who is having a great game. Here are some notes from the second period.

Bruins get first power play of the second after the Sharks get nailed for too many men. Bruins fail to put a shot on net and once again strike out on the power play.

The Bruins lose track of Logan Coture as he beats Thomas extending the Sharks lead to 2-0.

Shawn Thornton tries to give the Bruins a spark as he drops the gloves with Jim Vandermeer. Second straight game Thornton has dropped the gloves.

The Bruins fourth line has been very good tonight. The “energy” line has been out there for much of the night against the Sharks very talented top line and has done a good job containing the snipers.

The “energy” line even finished the period with two prime scoring chances just missing cutting the lead in half on two different occasions.
