    Bruins vs. Monarchs after 20

It did not take long for Bobby Robins to get his team and crowd going here at the Dunkin’ Donuts center as it was exactly seven seconds in as he tried to pick a fight with Jordan Nolan, but Nolan respectively denied and Robins ended up in the sin bin for two minutes.

It was a very sloppy first period for the Providence Bruins, but with a last minute goal by Kyle Mackinnon it did not look as bad. The Baby B’s trailed the Monarchs 1-0 after Bryan Rodney riffled a slapper from the blue line that beat Niklas Svedberg, but the team started to wake up and gained a great boost on their goal right before the intermission. Credit Justin Florek with the assist.

Each team traded power-plays, but neither could capitalize with the man advantage. The Monarchs out shot the Baby B’s 13-10 after the first period. Niklas Svedberg has been very solid through the first 20 minutes despite letting in a goal.

We will keep you posted after period two as well, but follow along @CHERRYINGTON or @BruinsDaily for in-game updates.
