    Second period quick hits:

Much of the same in the second period, the Lightning received the first  two power-plays of the period by penalties on Brad Marchand and Carl Soderberg. The Bruins again killed the penalties off leaving the Lightning 0-3 on the night to this point. The penalty kill in front of Rask has stood tall.

Steven Stamkos did it again riffling a wrist shot past Rask that beat him stick side to give the Lightning a 2-1 lead halfway through the period. It was Stamkos’ 25th goal of the season including his second of the night. Palat notched his second assist of the night to give him 25 on the year while Nikita Nesterov recorded his first point of his career with the assist.

David Pastrnak nodded things up at 2-2 with a great move to beat Bishop. Pastrnak used his speed and skill to bring the TD Garden faithful back to life. It was Pastrnak’s third goal in his last two games. It was Milan Lucic’s 15th assist on the season while Kevan Miller notched his third assist of the year.

Milan Lucic gave the B’s their first lead of the night minutes later scoring his ninth goal of the season driving to the net to beat Bishop. Lucic was paired with David Krejci and Pastrnak late in the second period resulting in two goals in two shifts.

The Black and Gold own a 15-1-1 record when leading heading into the third period while the Lightning own a 0-12-1 record when trailing after the second frame.

    First period quick hits:

Brad Marchand collided with Ben Bishop giving the Tampa Bay Lightning the first power-play of the game. The Bruins killed it off highlighted by a nice save by Tuukka Rask on Jonathan Drouin. Minutes later, the Bruins received their first power-play of the night, but Ben Bishop and company returned the favor shutting down the Bruins man advantage. Both special teams are holding their ground early.

The Lightning struck first on Steven Stamkos’ 24th goal of the season on a nifty pass by Ondrej Palat. Somehow, Stamkos was unidentified in front of Rask leading to the first goal of the game. The center extended his goal streak to three games.

Brad Marchand tied the score at one with a one-timer past Bishop on a beautiful cross-ice pass by Carl Soderberg who threaded the needle. It was Marchand’s team leading 12th goal of the season.

Tuukka Rask had a good first period continuing his success against the Lightning. He allowed one goal on eight shots, but one of the best goal scorers in the NHL was uncovered. Rask has compiled a 7-2-0 record with three shutouts in his career against the Lightning. The net-minder also sports a 1.99 goals against average to go along with a .928 save percentage.

David Pastrnak watch: Pastrnak had a good first period almost scoring a highlight reel goal by batting the puck out of mid air early on, but he was stopped by Bishop. The right-winger had two shots on goal, a plus-1 rating while getting 5:34 of total ice time.
