    Second period Quick hits:

-It wasn’t the start the Bruins were looking for in the second period. Brad Marchand committed a high-sticking penalty 46 seconds into the middle frame. Brandon Pirri capitalized almost instantly netting his 21st goal of the year in just 44 games. Brian Campbell and Jimmy Hayes each tallied the assists, their 23rd and 14th respectively.

-The Panthers weren’t done as Matt Bartkowski completely whiffed on a puck that led to Brad Boyes breakaway where he scored his 13th goal of the season giving Florida a 2-1 lead. These are the mistakes the B’s can’t afford to commit especially with minimal time left in their season not to mention it was a soft goal that Rask should have come up with.

-When trailing after 40 minutes of play, the Black and Gold own a dismal 4-19-0 record while the Panthers are tough to beat at 20-3-3. It’s do or die time for Boston in the next 20 minutes and it won’t be easy.

-Chris Kelly and Max Talbot have combined for zero shots in over 16 minutes of play. They have recorded three hits total while their streak of not scoring a goal in March lives on.

    Second period stats:

-Bruins are outshooting the Panthers 19-14.

-Boston has seven giveaways to Florida’s three.

-Each team has two power-plays to this point.
