Since 2006, the NHL and NHLPA have partnered with Kraft foods for the annual Kraft Hockeyville promotion in Canada. Nine years later, the contest is reaching the United States for the first time.

Quincy Youth Arena is one of the finalists.

Since 1973, Quincy Youth Arena has provided opportunities for youth hockey players to take part in games, practices, clinics and more. The hockey rink also plays host to many StinkySocks Hockey leagues and is also home to the company’s annual Boston Best and Spring Breakaway Tournaments each spring.

As youth hockey continues to grow, Quincy Youth Arena has seen its share of upgrades over the years to keep up with the popularity. But they would be in for even bigger and better things if they’re chosen to host the first Kraft Hockeyville day in the U.S.

Quincy Youth Arena is one of the 10 finalists. Four other rinks were chosen from the East and five rinks from the West round out the 10. The winner will be determined by popular vote, which started on Tuesday.

The first round of the voting process ends Thursday at midnight. Voters can put in up to 50 entries per day.

Other entries include Highgate Sports Arena (Highgate, VT), Cambria County War Memorial Arena (Johnstown, PA), Healthy Zone Rink (East Aurora, NY), Pullar Stadium (Sault Sainte Marie, MI), St. Michael – Albertville Arena (Albertville, MN), Pickwick Ice (Burbank, CA), Rushmore Thunderdome (Rapid City, SD), Decatur Civic Center (Decatur, IL) and Big Dipper Ice Arena (Fairbanks, AK)

The grand prize winner will receive $150,000 in rink upgrades and the chance to host an NHL preseason game for the 2015-16 campaign. Additionally, one runner-up will receive $70,000 in rink upgrades while $40,000 for renovations will be given to two first prize winners and six second prize winners will take home $20,000 for improvements.
