For the second year in a row, the premium cable network Epix will document the road to the Winter Classic and this season the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry will take center stage.

On Thursday, the NHL announced the renewal of “Epix presents road to the NHL Winter Classic” for its four-part series. The first 60-minute episode will air each Wednesday, starting on December 16th and concludes on January 6th. All shows will air at 10 pm Eastern and will also be streamed live on Epix.com and NHL.com.

Fifty-three time Emmy award winner Ross Greenburg will handle producing duties and Bill Camp (from Black Mass and 12 Years a Slave) will narrate this year’s behind the scenes look at the players, coaches and management preparing for the Bruins-Canadiens showdown at Gillette Stadium.

With the Bruins in transition and the Canadiens looking to finally end their Stanley Cup drought, this promises to be an entertaining series. From P.K. Subban to Brad Marchand to Carey Price to Tuukka Rask to Tomas Plekanec to Patrice Bergeron to Michel Therrien and others, the cast of characters for this year’s documentary is quite strong.

Will we see Marchand and other Bruins be vocal in the locker room if things continue to go south? Will there be a scene featuring PK and Malcolm at the Subban household? Will Claude Julien survive through the Winter Classic and some witty commentary? And how much tension from the rivalry will be highlighted? These are all questions that could very well be answered as the documentary progresses.

Who knows, maybe the Bear and loyal Bruins Daily supporter Rene Rancourt will have a cameo in this.
