Patrice Bergeron missed Wednesday’s morning skate prior to the Bruins’ matchup with the Flyers. At the time, Claude Julien said his status was to be determined for personal reasons.

Well, we now know the reason thanks to Cam Neely’s weekly appearance on Felger and Mazz. The Bruins President confirmed that Bergeron became a new dad after the birth of his first son, Zack, earlier in the day. Neely also confirmed that the B’s assistant captain will suit up tonight at TD Garden as the Bruins look for their third win in a row.

Through five games, Bergeron is third on the team in points with five to go along with his three goals, good for second.

Bergeron should take his normal spot in the lineup, centering Brad Marchand and Loui Eriksson. Here is the expected Bruins’ line chart for tonight’s matchup with Philly.

    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Loui Eriksson
    Brett Connolly-David Krejci-David Pastrnak
    Jimmy Hayes-Ryan Spooner-Chris Kelly
    Zac Rinaldo-Joonas Kemppainen-Tyler Randell

    Zdeno Chara-Kevan Miller
    Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid
    Tommy Cross-Colin Miller

    Tuukka Rask
    Jonas Gustavsson

Earlier in the day, Julien confirmed that Matt Beleseky is out with an upper-body injury. We’ll see if that has an impact on the team, and we’ll also see if Bergeron can give the Black and Gold an emotional lift tonight against the Flyers, who are playing their second game of a back to back.
