November is the second month of the hockey season where teams are still trying to work out their kinks and fine tool their on-ice product. Off the ice, players, coaches and other personnel participate in no shave November — or in simpler terms: Movember — to raise funds and awareness for men’s health across the globe.

Patrice Bergeron is no stranger to the campaign, and this year he is doing it again, and teaming up with VISA Canada in the process.

The Bruins assistant captain, along with the Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith and Maple Leaf teammates James van Riemsdyk and Jonathan Bernier, co-starred in VISA’s Movember campaign up north called “Mo Bros” as part of a unique social media opportunity where users can customize the video(s).

Before we get to the clip of Bergeron’s ad, here’s a snippet of the campaign from VISA (via Puck Daddy)

[quote_box]”Mo Bros can create their own video, meme and audio message at movember.com/hockeytools. Participants can simply upload their photo to quickly generate a 45 second commercial, a meme or an audio message featuring Bergeron, Bernier, van Riemsdyk or Keith, creating an easy fundraising tool that can be shared with friends and family.”[/quote_box]

The power of social media has brought tremendous awareness to great causes like Movember over the years. But the customization to add multimedia into the “Mo Bros” campaign is what really should be applauded here according to your’s truly. And judging from Bergeron’s clip, it would be no surprise to see Bruins fans upload their own meme’s or photo’s to add to this interactive campaign.

There’s even more added incentive for Bruins fans up north. VISA will donate an extra $10 for every Movember donation made on VISA Checkout.

But wait, there’s more. Donors of VISA’s Movember campaign will have a chance to win the Movember jersey’s as seen on the campaign and a trip for four for this year’s Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium.
