On Tuesday, the NHL revealed this year’s “By the Numbers” for the 2016 Winter Classic. From facts about players and the history of the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry to the figures surrounding the ice installment and off-ice information, there are some interesting things of note to say the least.

Here’s a look at some notable numbers for this year’s Winter Classic.

1 – The number of appearances for the Montreal Canadiens at the Winter Classic. They have also appeared in two Heritage Classics in Edmonton (2003) and Calgary (2011).

2 – The number of Winter Classic appearances for the Boston Bruins. This will mark the first time that a team has hosted two times in the annual New Year’s Day outdoor game. Two is also the same amount of games Gillette Stadium will host on New Year’s Eve with the Bruins-Canadiens alumni game (3:30 p.m.) being preceded by the first professional outdoor women’s hockey matchup between the Boston Pride (NWHL) and Les Canadiennes (CWHL).

4 – The number of active Bruins that are remaining from the Winter Classic in 2010: Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Zdeno Chara and Tuukka Rask. Rask was the backup to Tim Thomas against the Flyers at Fenway Park. This also marks the number of Massachusetts players participating in this year’s Winter Classic: Frank Vatrano (East Longmeadow), Jimmy Hayes (Dorchester), Brian Flynn (Lynnfield) and Mike Condon (Needham).

7 – The number of active Canadiens who have played in an outdoor game. Six of them participated in the 2011 Heritage Classic against the Flames: P.K. Subban, Carey Price (who will miss this year’s game due to injury), Max Pacioretty, Tomas Plekanec, Lars Eller and David Desharnais. Andrei Markov, who missed the game in Calgary due to injury, skated in the 2003 Heritage Classic against the Oilers.

10 – The number of stories of the lighthouse at the north end zone that rises above the rink.

15 – The number of outdoor games that the NHL has hosted. This year’s game will mark the eighth time that an outdoor game has taken place in a football stadium. Two more Stadium Series games will take place later in the season: Blackhawks-Wild at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (February 21) and Red Wings-Avalanche at Coors Field in Denver (February 27).

19 – Average low temperature (Fahrenheit) for New Year’s Day in Foxboro

37 – Average high temperature (Fahrenheit) for New Year’s Day in Foxboro and the average temp for the previous seven Winter Classic’s.

110 – The number of players who have played for both the Bruins and Canadiens in their careers. Michael Ryder is the only player who played in over 200 games for both teams.

160 – The approximate amount of countries that will show this year’s Winter Classic.

186 – The amount of gallons of clam chowder — a New England staple — that will be served at Gillette Stadium.

243 – Number of ice pans under the Gillette Stadium rink.

300 – The weight in tons of the refrigeration trailer to keep the rink cold.

350 – Paint gallons to color the ice white.

732 – The number of all-time regular season meetings of the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry; the most in NHL history.

909 – The number of combined regular season meetings between the Bruins and Habs.

1,000 – The NHL will conserve this amount of gallons of water for every fan who texts NHL to 77177, as part of the Change the Course campaign.

2,000 – The amount of pounds of Italian sausage that will be consumed by fans at Gillette Stadium.

3,000 – Coolant gallons to freeze the ice at the Gillette Stadium rink.

413,548 – Total attendance for the previous seven Winter Classics.
