BOSTON — Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was hospitalized late last night due to dehydration.

The extent of Chara’s severity was not confirmed by head coach Claude Julien at today’s morning skate, but, he did expect the 6-foot-9 defenseman to play in tonight’s pivotal Game 2 against the Montreal Canadiens, unless he hear’s otherwise from team doctors.

“We heard that he got treated for dehydration and that’s basically all there is to that,” Julien stated. “Until our medical staff tells us he can’t go then he’s in today.”

We’ll be sure to pass you more details as they become available.
