Kevin Paul Dupont, Hockey Hall of Fame writer and Bruins/NHL guru from The Boston Globe, just tweeted (@GlobeKPD) minutes ago that a top source (not from the team) has confirmed a concussion for Bruins center Patrice Bergeron.

Bergeron was decked straight-on by Philadelphia forward Claude Giroux in the opening few minutes of the third period in last night’s 5-1 win and sweep of the Flyers. Bergeron quickly got back to his feet, then made a bee-line to the Bruins locker room. He did not return to the game.

Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli will be holding a press conference shortly at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass. More info on the 25-year-old and his potential third concussion in his young, bright career is sure to be on the way.
