Tuukka to get nod vs Avs
Share
BOSTON — Good afternoon from the TD Garden where the Bruins welcome the visiting Colorado Avalanche for a Columbus Day matinée.
Just a couple of notes to pass along from Claude Julien’s pregame press conference. Goaltender Tuukka Rask will get the nod over Tim Thomas for his first start of the season.
Rask, who took the job from Thomas after his injury plagued 2009-10 season, felt victim to a sophomore slump last season going 11-14-4 in 29 games with a 2.67 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. Obviously with Thomas carrying the load throughout the playoffs, Tuukka will be seeing more starts as a result.
Also, Jordan Caron will replace Benoit Pouliot in the lineup, while defenseman Steven Kampfer is getting closer to returning to the lineup.
