Head Coach, Claude Julien, Boston Bruins, Boston Bruins coaches, Boston Bruins photos, Boston Bruins scores, Boston Bruins News, Boston Bruins BlogsNo, the Bruins did not trade for Rick Nash. Nor did the team decide to sign Zach Parise, but the team had some big news on Monday as the Boston Bruins signed their Head coach Claude Julien to a multi-year contract extension.

Along with the extension of Julien, the Bruins have extended their partnership with CBS Radio.

The Bruins will make the Julien signing official on Tuesday July 24 at noon ET in the Will McDonough Press Room at TD Garden. Julien became the 28th coach in Bruins history on June 21, 2007 and led the B’s to their first Stanley Cup in 39 years in 2011 with a 4-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in game seven. In five seasons at the helm, Julien has a 228-132-50 record. He is third all-time in club history with 410 games coached.

Under Julien, the B’s have never missed the postseason registering a 36-37 record. The B’s may have not signed the big name and took care of their third and fourth lines, but it cannot go overlooked signing the mastermind behind the benches for this very talented and young B’s squad.

CBS Radio has been home to the Bruins since the 1995-1996 season. In August of 2009 CBS Radio launched 98.5 The Sports Hub where the Bruins have been aired since.

“Over the past three years, the Bruins have been very happy to be partners with ‘98.5 The Sports Hub’ as the station has launched and grown,” said Bruins President Cam Neely. “We feel that 98.5 has truly embraced the Bruins and our fans across all of their programming, and we are happy that The Sports Hub will be the home for Boston hockey fans for years to come.”

Be sure to check back tomorrow with Bruins Daily for coverage of the Claude Julien press conference.
