Hockey Resurrection Party at The Harp tonight: sold out
After a long lockout that lasted 113 days, hockey fans can finally rejoice for the return of the National Hockey League. And we here at Bruins Daily are happy to be teaming up with The Harp, SupahFans Streetwear, 98.5 The Sports Hub, Coors Light and fellow bloggers Days of Y’Orr and Boston Sports Then & Now for the sold out Hockey Resurrection Party.
Join us for the first Bruins gathering of the season on Thursday Jan. 17th at The Harp (85 Causeway Street) from 7-10 p.m. The party, which does not include a cover, includes complimentary appetizers, raffles and giveaways, a silent auction and some special guests, including forward Shawn Thornton, Bruins alumnus Lyndon Byers, Mike “Behind the Mike” Callahan from 98.5, Comcast SportsNet New England Bruins insider Joe Haggerty and national anthem singer – and Bruins Daily supporter – Rene Rancourt.
Callahan will kick things off with his version of “Play Hockey Maybe” from Toucher and Rich. The Sports Hub personalty will also be handing out copies of his “best of” albums.
Rancourt and SupahFans will team up to debut a new officially liscenced “Rene Rancourt Tuxedo T-Shirt” featuring his famous fist pump and fascimiled signature. The long-time fan favorite will also sing his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
After Haggerty’s introduction, Thornton will be taking questions from Bruins fans, who can submit their questions on sight, or on Twitter (using hashtag #AskShawnThornton) and The Harp’s Facebook page.
Also included is a “SupahFan” contest. Show that you are the biggest “SupahFan” by dressing in Bruins memorabilia and you could win some free swag from SupahFans. Your’s truly will be one of the judges, so look for me in the audience and be creative.
