Tonight the Bruins travel to Carolina to take on the winless Hurricanes.

The Bruins hit the road for the first time this season in the first game of a two-game-road-trip. The trip starts tonight in Carolina where the Bruins are set to take on the winless Hurricanes. The Bruins and Hurricanes are scheduled to play again Tuesday in Boston.

    Game Details:
    Boston Bruins @ Carolina Hurricanes
    Puck Drop: 7:30
TV: Versus Radio: 98.5 The Sports Hub
    2010-11 Season Series: Bruins 3-1
    2011-12 Season Series: Tied 0-0
Expected Goalies: Bruins: Tim Thomas. Carolina Hurricanes: Cam Ward.

    What to watch for Bruins:
Center David Krejci has been ruled out for tonight’s game which means there will be a new center atop the Bruins top line. Tyler Seguin or Patrice Bergeron are the likely replacements.

Tonight’s game in Carolina marks the first time Bruins defensemen Joe Corvo gets to lace up the skates against his former team. Corvo was traded to the Bruins in the offseason just minutes after the Hurricanes signed former Bruins defensemen Tomas Kaberle.

The Bruins came out flat for the first 40 minutes of Monday’s loss to the Avalanche resulting in a 1-0 loss. Look for the Bruins to come out with some pep in their step tonight against a Hurricanes team who is ice cold.

    What to watch for Hurricanes:
Carolina (0-2-1) has struggled out of the gate so far, but last year’s Calder Award Winner Jeff Skinner has been as hot as they come as he has five points (one goal) in the Canes’ first three games.

Tonight’s expected goalie Cam Ward has not looked good at all in the two games he’s played in. Ward has gone 0-2 with a 4.03 goals against average and a .864 save percentage.

Like the Bruins, Carolina has struggled to put the puck in the net. The Hurricanes have scored just six times in their first three contests.
