The Baby B’s (2-2) and the Springfield Falcons (3-1) exchanged punches (literally) throughout the entire period, but the Baby B’s saw  four power play chances go by the boards as the Falcons capitalized on their first one of the night to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Nick Drazenovic lit the lamp for the Falcons on a beautiful feed from David Savard (also assisted by Ryan Craig). The Baby B’s had many chances to take the lead in the first, but yet again the power play went missing.

Falcons goaltender Curtis McElhinney continued his strong play stopping all 10 shots thrown on him by the Baby B’s. Niklas Svedberg stopped nine of the 10 shots he faced.

The two teams continued to exchange man advantages, but only one time did a team take advantage of that and that was the Falcons. They hold a 1-0 lead heading into the second period at the Dunk. Stay tuned for the second period update after the next 20 minutes of play.
